My plans were to make it to Old Faithful for sunrise, then meander my way back towards West Yellowstone through the Midway Geyser Basin. Through-out the summer, I speak with people who tell me that their time spent in the park produced them with no sightings of the American Bison. They’re always rumbling around, you just need to be in the right place at the right time to see them at their best.

Grand Teton National Park is one of my favorite places to visit. It’s about a three hour drive from where I live, and while I don’t get much time to spend there in the summer, I try to make it a habit of visiting at least once per winter.

In just a few short weeks, I’ll be celebrating the 9th anniversary of my 10 year relationship ending. Why the celebration? Well without it, I wouldn’t be where I’m at today. It sent me into a spiral of self reflection, self discovery, and most importantly healing of the self.

Yes this is mainly a photography blog/website, and for the past year or so I've been focusing more on my photographic captures than my intimate writing. Why? The intimacy of my words resonate with a few, while the beauty of my photographs relate to the many. I haven't written deeply in a while, because life has been good. Deep words come in transitional times, and right now I once again find myself in somewhat of a transitional time. So no pretty photographs this time around, just a collection of heartfelt words. 

Backpacking overnight has been something that I've wanted to do for the last several years, but procrastination, not making the time for it, and the unnerving thought of entering a bears' home kept me from fully embracing the experience. Sure I've done my fair share of day hikes, but to be out in the elements overnight, just adds to the excitement of it all

Willie Nelson once sang, or I guess continues to sing at the tender age of 91, "On the road again, just can't wait to get on the road again!" After a rather dull and uneventful six month snow plowing season compared to 2023, I eagerly awaited May the first, when once again I'd be hitting the open road. No stranger to the highways that criss cross the United States, my plan was to spend a week in Sedona, Arizona, after a quick overnighter in Carbon County, Utah.
